IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Elijah Cole

Arlington

In Arlington where  the heros lie
Cannons roar and frighten the sky
The blessed path the caissons travel
Strewn with solders thick as gravel
Free from danger
Free from fear
Stifled voices only God can hear
Arlington the eternal rest
Reserved for America's finest and best

Elijah Cole's Questions:

On line four (strewn with solders thick as gravel)  I would like a comment on that comparison to the number of solders buried in Arlington. Should I have said thick as something else?
