A drunken crow hits the window
where a doctor sits
listening to a patient.

The bird has eaten berries that 
grow near the building
overripe, fallen and fermented.

Intoxicated
and shockingly black 
he beats his wings against the glass.

What is porous?
a psychiatrist might ask
and what is impenetrable
